Description
This work came to light for the first time in 1965 thanks to the strong will of an editor sensitive to the traditions of the Catalan people: among them, paremiology. This will and sensitivity led to the grandfather Àngel Millà and father Lluís Millà to found the Millà publishing house and, specifically, the Biblioteca Popular Catalana Vell i Nou, in which the Cinc mil refranys catalans appeared.

The Millà family disclosed and made the popular culture in Catalan accessible to the citizens of Catalonia: from the theatrical world to the country's customs.
