Description

The creator of the Càntir 2024 is the multifaceted artist Javier Mariscal, awarded the National Design Award in 1999.Enthusiastically facing every challenge presented to him, Mariscal approached the Argentona càntir with the same passion and dedication that characterizes his work.

"I received this order with great joy, it was a true gift for me," he said during a press conference. The artist shared his honor by being part of the select gallery of creators who, since 2017, have left their mark on the jugs of the museum's author collection.

“El Càntir is a refrigerator without batteries. It is an invention from thousands and more of thousands of years ago. It is portable, it can be filled, it is fragile, if handled carelessly it will break, it is shared with friends and, above all, it is humble, almost anonymous. In summer, when it's hot, he sweats water like you. In the shade of a fig tree, the cool water of the botijo is a jewel”.
