Petit Gaudí Tile – Handmade Hydraulic Mosaic

The Petit Gaudí tile brings one of Antoni Gaudí’s most recognisable designs into your home. This half-scale reproduction retains the hexagonal shape and relief of the hydraulic mosaic used inside Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera.

Its compact size lets you appreciate the pattern up close and display it on a bookshelf, a desk or in a favourite corner. A decorative piece that brings together architecture, craftsmanship and Gaudí’s view of nature.

A design from 1904 inspired by the sea

Gaudí originally designed this mosaic in 1904 for Casa Batlló, although it was ultimately installed in La Pedrera. The pattern combines forms inspired by marine life: a seashell, a starfish and seaweed.

Each tile contains part of the motifs, which become complete when several hexagons are placed together. Three tiles reveal one of the elements; seven reveal all three motifs. Display a single tile or combine several pieces to explore the complete design.

Handmade by Mosaics Martí

Each Petit Gaudí tile is made by hand by the artisans at Mosaics Martí, a workshop producing hydraulic mosaics since 1913.

The tiles are made using the traditional craft technique, with hydraulic pressing and natural curing, without kiln firing. Small variations in texture and colour are part of this process and give each piece its character.

Light brings out the lines and shadows of the relief, revealing different details as you change the tile’s position.

Four colours and an optional wooden stand

Available in white, green, classic grey and black, Petit Gaudí lets you choose a finish to suit your space.

White highlights the subtle relief, green adds colour, classic grey offers an understated finish, and black creates contrast against light surfaces and natural wood. Side lighting brings out the details of the pattern particularly well on the black version.

Add an optional wooden display stand to present the tile upright on a shelf or table.
