Ratafia is a sweet liqueur typical of rural Catalonia, highly appreciated as an aperitif and digestif.
The Ratafia de l’Ermità de los Pirineos is a liqueur made from an 18th century recipe transcribed from the Capuchin archives by Fray Valentí Serra de Manresa, an enthusiastic student of medicinal plants, herbs and spices and their medicinal and culinary applications.

It is a ratafía, of Catalan tradition, made by macerating the 17 aromatic plants and fruits that make up the original recipe in wine spirit. Its graduation is 26% alcohol and its sugar content is 250 grams per liter. We are surely faced with the oldest Catalan ratafía recipe, so far known, prepared with great care in the Licores Portet facilities in La Pobla de Segur, with uninterrupted tradition since 1883. 500 ml glass bottle.
La Ratafia de L'Ermità has been awarded the 2017 Silver Medal of the Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition and the Gold Medal of the 2017 Topwine competition. It has also obtained 90 points in the prestigious Peñín Guide 2017 for wines and spirits.
