Espai R is a creative shop, design studio and workshop located in Barcelona's Raval neighbourhood. Among its projects is La Memòria dels Objectes, a collection of posters and T-shirts designed by Carles Vallalta, celebrating everyday objects that have become part of our shared memories and cultural identity.
Some objects stay with us throughout our lives and quietly become part of our personal stories. A traditional wine pitcher on the table, an old-fashioned soda siphon, a mortar and pestle in the kitchen or a Moka coffee pot that starts the morning.
These familiar objects are the inspiration behind La Memòria dels Objectes (The Memory of Objects), a collection created by designer Carles Vallalta at Espai R, a creative space in the heart of Barcelona's Raval neighbourhood.
Espai R is much more than a shop. It is also a graphic and web design studio and a creative workshop dedicated to original ideas, timeless objects and distinctive design.
From its premises in Plaça de Vicenç Martorell, Espai R brings together a carefully curated selection of brands and unique products alongside its own creative projects, always with a contemporary perspective and a passion for thoughtful design.
Through this collection, Carles Vallalta rediscovers the beauty of simple objects that have been part of everyday life for generations.
Traditional wine pitchers, soda siphons, mortars, Moka coffee pots, clothes pegs and record players become graphic illustrations celebrating the visual beauty and emotional significance of everyday objects.
Far from being ordinary utensils, these objects represent memories, traditions and ways of life that form part of our shared experience.
La Memòria dels Objectes transforms these illustrations into decorative posters and original T-shirts, combining nostalgia, contemporary graphic design and popular culture.
These creations encourage us to see familiar things from a fresh perspective. Objects that may have disappeared from many homes but remain alive in our memories.
